We live in a world which is rapidly changing everyday. With the rapid change of the world, the usage of the internet is increasing massively. Nowadays, life without the internet seems impossible to a lot of people. This great use of the internet has motivated people to create more advanced and unique technologies and web sites for the usage of internet users. One of them are the user-created content sites. User-created content are a little group of Web 2.0 technologies, tagging and folksonomic tools, social bookmarking sites, and sites that make it easy to contribute ideas and content. Some example of these sites are Flickr, YouTube, Google Video etc. Sites like these make it easy to find images, videos, and audio clips, but the real value of these sites lies in the way that users can classify, evaluate and add to the content that is there. Also people can find and make comment on items in other people's lists, sharing not only the resources themselves but information and descriptive details about them.

These UCC sites have a great impact on education and entertainment. But its impact on employment is not understood by the people. People come, work and leave from the UCC sites. Everyday, the users of the sites find new updates and find their content nicely displayed. The question is "who does all this?" It is definitely not a automated machine who updates the sites and communicates with users when they have a problem. There is definitely someone on the other side who is managing these sites and is making sure that people work don't get ruined and don't go in vain. There are real people and no funky computers who are on the other end working to manage these sites. These people are employed by these sites to work for them to manage the sites. These has made a great impact on employment. Due to this, more and more people are getting hired by these sites to work for them. This has reduced the rate of employment by a reasonable percent. As the world is based on the internet, many people are now able to work on computers and internet sites. Their minds are developing with the moving world and now a lot of people know how to work on internet sites. As a result, these people are getting hired by the UCC sites to work for them to manage sites.

As we know, the user-created content sites are increasing in a very rapid manner. In almost a year, there will be hundreds and thousands of UCC sites on the web and more and more people will be using these sites more frequently. As a result, more and more people will be employed by these sites to work for them. The sites will be needing more people to manage, design and to help the users regarding the UCC sites. But the big question is "what are the requirements for a person to have regarding UCC sites?" Now we all know that people who knows how to use a computer won't be employed by these sites. These sites need people who really know how to manage web sites and has created content before in their school, college or university level. It really does not matter to the sites about the society the employees are taken as long as they know what they are required to do and have the right attitude. This brings up the issue of behavior. People who will work to help the users need to have a lot of patience and need to be efficient. There will thousand of email reports each day regarding the sites and those people need to go through them all and try to solve as much as possible. Also the employees need to have a very polite and understanding attitude instead of a hot mind and a lazy attitude.

As we know, the numbers of user-created sites are increasing at a very rapid rate. Nowadays when people go look for a job, they take a huge file with them where they have all their necessary papers, degrees etc. Now let us imagine this five to six years from now. In that time it is very obvious that the internet will take over the world. People will be addicted to the internet. So from five years from now what sort of approach will people have when getting a job? Seeing the rapid expansion of UCC sites, it can be predicted that five years from now people will take the help of UCC to get a job. Instead of caring a huge file with them and running to places, people will sit on the net and communicate through the emails or instant messaging. People will ask the offices to visit the user-created content sites which they have used to know about them. In short, people will use their digital portfolio to get jobs five years from now.

To make it clearer, let us look at an example. For example, a person wants to be an engineer five years from now. What sort of approaches will he take to get a job at an engineering institute? Firstly, he will get signed up for the job through the net. The institution will give him a date and time where he has to do his online interview. The institution wants to know more about him so the person sends the links of his user-created content sites which he uses everyday (wikis, blogs etc). The person for example uses 'wikispaces' for his wikis and 'eblogger' for his blogs. He displays his engineering skills by sending the link of 'flickr' where he uploaded his designs. Seeing these sites, the institution develops a very vivid image of the person’s background. So on the interview day, the person confronts the office management people with the help of video conference. He answers their questions and is given a time to come to their office with his school, college, universities etc degrees.

So it is seen that how easy it would be to use UCC sites to help get a job. Instead of running around with huge files through different offices, all the person has to do is send his UCC site links to his desired employment offices and wait for them to response and fix him an interview. So it is obvious that UCC sites are very helpful regarding employment and is sure to make a great impact a couple of years from now.

As the internet is more embedded in people's lives, users draw on new Internet applications to express themselves through user-created-content (UCC). Most UCC activities are undertaken without the expectation of remuneration or profit. Motivating factors include connecting with peers, achieving a certain level of fame, notoriety or prestige, and self-expression. Impact of UCC on government and politics of the world include the economy, laws, policies, society and many more.

UCC is already an important economic phenomenon despite its originally noncommercial context. The spread of UCC and the mount of attention devoted to it by users appears to be a significant disruptive force for how content is created and consumed and for traditional content suppliers. This disruption creates opportunities and challenges for estalished market participant and their strategies. The more immediate economic impacts in terms of growth, entry of new firms and employments are currently with ICT goods and services providers and newly forming UCC platforms. New digital content innovations seem to be more based on decentralized creativity, organizational innovation and new valueadded models, which favor new entrants, and less on traditional scale advantages and large start-up investments. Search engines, portals and aggregators are experimenting with business models that are often based on online advertisement and marketing. On social networking sites and in virtual worlds, for example, brand increasingly create special sub-sites and new forms of advertising are emerging. The shift to Internet-based media is only beginning to affect content publishers and broadcasters. At the outset, UCC may have been seen as competition as: 1) users may create and watch UCC at the expense of traditional media, reducing advertising revenues, 2) users become more selective in their media consumption (especially younger age groups), 3) some UCC platforms host unauthorized content from media publishers. However, some traditional media organizations have shifted from creating on-line content to creating the facilities and frameworks for UCC creators to publish. They have also been making their websites and services more interactive through user comment and ratings and content diffusion. TV companies are also licensing content and extending on-air programs and brands to UCC platforms. There are also potentially growing impacts of UCC on independent or syndicated content producers. Professional photographers, graphic designers, free-lance journalists and similar professional categories providing pictures, news videos, articles or other content have started to face competition from freely provided amateur-created content.

Despite growing economic impacts of UCC, at the outset, the creation of content by users is often perceived as a social phenomenon with social implications. On the side of opportunities, the changes in the way users produce, distribute, access and re-use information, knowledge and entertainment potential leads to three cross-sectional trends: increased user autonomy; increased participation, and increased diversity. The internet and UCC also lead to a change concerning the nature of communication (who communicates with whom under what conditions and whose discretion and related social relationships. These opportunities are likely to have structural impacts on the cultural, social, political sphere and economics, respectively. On the side of challenges, the topics of inclusion, cultural fragmentation and issues related to security, privacy and content quality have been raised. "Changed information production leads to increased user autonomy, participation and communication." The rise of UCC produces new opportunities for how information, knowledge and culture is made and exchanged, potentially at lower cost. The Internet being a new outlet for creativity, has altered the nature and the economics of information production as the entry barriers for content creation have significantly declined or vanished and led to the democratization of media production. Changes include lower entry barriers, lower distribution costs, lower costs to users, greater diversity of works with shelf space in the digital media being almost limitless. These changes imply a shift away from simple passive consumption of broadcasting and other mass distribution models to more active choosing, interacting and actually creating of content and a shift to a participatory culture. Technological change empowers individuals to tell their stories, to produce cultural goods such as music and to transform the information and media content environment surrounding them. Users may derive a higher value from this content consumption as the content may be more personalised as users have a greater control over this on-demand content. Furthermore, the changed structure of communication and resulting active relationships built around exchange are argued to have a vital and important impact on how citizens and users communicate and express, and possible positive impacts on social ties.

How is this trend currently impacting the Arts, Entertainment, and Leisure? What do people create? At what do people look? How do people spend their time? Are more or less people getting involved in the arts?

The term art is changing with the modern world. In today’s digital world we can be sure art no longer means drawing in a canvas or performing in stage but the current technology has given the term art a whole new meaning. Roughly 50 years ago when computer was first being developed, people could only show their artistic talents on paper and on stage. Many people do not feel comfortable performing in stage or share their creativity skills to others but with the current technological advantage; many can now show their talents to the world.

A new form of art has been discovered in the 21st century, graphics design, web page design, animation and video editing comes into the criteria of arts in the 21st century. They are all done digitally and it is something that we could not do sitting at our home roughly 15 years ago. In today’s world people ordinary people can now carry out their desire to do creative work just for self satisfaction. Websites such as,, ifilm, Metacafe, Dailymotion Myspace, AnimeEpisodes.Net, Badjojo, Blastro, Blennus, many others can be used to exhibit anybody’s work so people can now have an aim to create something and use it actively.

Current Impact

The term “arts” is changing with the technology, a new form of art has taken over the world with its mass audience of over 100million per day. Never there has been such a large audience who visits an art or documentary exhibition. The arts today is different, it is no longer limited to paint brush or stage acting, but it has a new definition of digital graphics design or movie editing with special effects. The best thing about the modern art is that it can be changed, mistakes are no longer a problem, and perfection can be achieved through advancement of today’s digital world. Digital artists can now fix any mistakes even when choosing a colour while painting. Though it is true that todays artists cannot match great artists of all time such as Leonardo DeVinci, but the modern artists create a perfect artwork through the use of technology.
Oekaki and Mad Movies (AMVs) are kind of 'new arts' usually spread in Japan and some countries like South Korea and China.
Oekaki is a type of drawing system that works like Paint program in Windows, but has more functions than it and is used in internet. It is created by a Japanese netizen 'Poo', and is very popular in especially East Asian countries such as Japan, South Korea, and China. One would be utterly surprised if they expect only some scribbles that most people draw on their mouse for fun. Good oekaki drawings are so mindstriking, that wmakes the viewers go "wow". Oekaki drawings varies from portrait, scene from animation, oil-on-canvas type western painting, etc.

Mad movies or AMV are the videos that are created by fans using a clips or images from the original works.
Creating mad movies requires editting skills in both videos and musics, so most likely mad movies or AMVs are created as a team, not as an individual. Most of them are amateurs, but few are made by professionals, usually for a marketing purposefs.

I believe that the future of art is very bright and will certainly be very different from recent artistic work. As the we all know that cartoon artists worked to before to make comic books and today’s modern artists do same kind of work but they work digitally to make animated cartoons. As the time is changing, the world is becoming faster by every moment. As the artists of the 20th century invented comic book heroes, the artists of the 21st century has developed and gave these cartoon heroes the power to move in screens and as the future follows, I believe that the artists of the 22nd century will bring them to life.

Webtoons are another growing trend of art and entertainment. After the creation of internet and spread of personal websites, a number of people drawing their own webtoons increased. Though only few make a success, some real-hit webtoon sites can actually earn money from displaying advertisements on their website. It is now a common trend in South Korea for a famous webtoonist to publish their own book containing webtoons. "Marineblues" is one of the most successful webtoon in South Korea's history. It started as a site posting webtoons about dailylife, and now created its own 'brand' that produces various products: books, diaries, dolls, blogskin, etc. This webtoon industry in South Korea is regarded as the future of Korean comic industry, which was declining because of P2P sites

What needs to happen to produce employees who are ready for the business world in the future:
Education? Society? Behavior? What needs to happen at the college level (and younger) to produce members of the work force who are competent in the future? What needs to change? You may want to work in conjunction with the impact on business to interact and share about how industries are changing and money is being made with businesses that support the arts, entertainment, and leisure.

When it comes to websites such as or youtube, people feel comfortable posting their videos in their and claim ownership of that video. since these website do not allow users to download the video, the author feels more comfortable working with it. These websites cannot fully give the author the guarantee that their work will not be copied, this is
because of softwares that can work beyond these websites security measures and give people the access to download the videos using softwares or just have a copy of the screen shots to download. since people mostly put up their work in these kind of website for self recognition or hobby, most people don’t feel the urge to look more into area of plagiarism. There are very few people who even read the terms and condition of these websites before signing up, this is a common thing for (stats needed for number of people who read rules and regulation) almost all people, no one is willing to spend an hour reading long rules and regulation pages, so when they click the part where it says "i accept the terms and condition" in most cases it means that the website will not take responsibility for any stolen artifacts or it could even mean that the website will take owner ship of every work you upload. they could even have the right to declare the workand sell it to other companies for advertising purpose. (find cases of this happening if possible). this might not be something that we might have hard of in regular basis but the terms and condition that appears is kind of like a contacts in digital format and you are signing to it. since we live in a world where we are new digital immigrant, we still believe that fact that we are untouchable in the digital world, just because we are communication through a machine with people who are in half way around the world doesn’t always mean that we have the security to do anything online, when comes to hackers this is a perfect example of why are not untouchable in the digital world. the new technology has gives us the privilege of connecting with people around the world and socialize digitally.
